Manuel Gottsching’s E2-E4 live at Lincoln Center Out Of Doors, with the Joshua Light Show displayed on Damrosch Park’s graceful bandshell, 8/15/08. Thousands of people sitting in the rain for a 58 minute long piece of proto-techno music. Fucking beautiful. It’s too bad they had to cancel Rhys Chatham’s “Crimson Grail” although they made the right call. 200 electrocuted guitarists would have been too much.
